AI content creation for small businesses

AI can speed up research, drafting and repurposing. It cannot supply your customer experience, proof or accountability. The best system combines automation with information only the business can provide.

Start with customer evidence

Collect questions from sales calls, enquiries, reviews and support messages. Group them by intent: learning, comparison, reassurance and purchase. This produces better topics than asking a model for “30 viral ideas”.

Build four content pillars

  • Education: answer a real customer question.
  • Proof: show a permissioned project, process or result.
  • Offer: explain what is included, who it fits and the next step.
  • People: share named expertise and genuine behind-the-scenes work.

AI can help turn each pillar into formats, but the underlying facts must come from the business.

Use a structured brief

Give the model the audience, objective, source material, format, voice, prohibited claims and desired action. Ask it to identify missing evidence rather than invent it. For regulated or high-stakes subjects, require review by a suitably qualified person.

Create once, adapt deliberately

A useful article can become a carousel, a short video, an email and several story prompts. Do not paste the same copy everywhere. Adapt the hook, length, visual framing and call to action for how people use each platform.

A practical weekly workflow

  1. Monday: select one customer question and gather sources.
  2. Tuesday: create the article or main video.
  3. Wednesday: extract one educational carousel.
  4. Thursday: publish a proof or process post.
  5. Friday: publish an offer post linked to the relevant landing page.

Quality-control checklist

  • Are every statistic, date and product claim verified?
  • Does the content contain first-hand information?
  • Are client names and images permissioned?
  • Is the next step relevant to the subject?
  • Does generated imagery alter the product or imply a false result?
  • Can the reader tell who is responsible for the advice?

Measure business outcomes

Track saves and reach, but also profile visits, qualified messages, landing-page sessions and leads. Use campaign-tagged links. A smaller post that produces the right enquiry can be more valuable than a widely viewed generic clip.
